A tool to assess the inspection data, reliability and remaining life of heat exchanger tube bundles using the statistical approach. This technology used the NDT data and provide the current condition of metal loss in the tube bundle, combined with statistical treatment using Extreme Value Analysis.

Conventional equipment health monitoring for mechanical damage typically utilized Non-Destructive Testing inspection during plant shutdown. These data will be coupled with FEA- FFS to predict equipment life. However, this prediction comes with certain inaccuracy and uncertainties as it typically based on assumptions such as future production parameters, as well as material non-linearity.

FFS was used to make decisions regarding future safe use of engineering assets. When damage was found, appropriate outcome was made by FFS which are safe to run, rerate and/or repair in order to extend their life. We have the capability to do Level 3 assessment, a more complex methodology and utilizing numerical analysis of FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
